R₂H’s Transportation division has over 100 years of combined experience in the design of transportation structures.  As a firm specializing in structural engineering, we have performed bridge design services under a variety of contractual relationships. These include roles as the prime contractor when bridge design services dominate the project scope and as a subconsultant on larger roadway projects, which also include bridge structures.   These structures have ranged from small single cell box culverts to $60 million freeway interchange rehabilitations and upgrades, which include bridge widenings, sound walls, and retaining walls. 

Bridge design requires an experienced staff of professionals who are familiar with the special requirements of bridges compared to buildings and other structures. All our engineers and designers assigned to a bridge project have experience on various bridges of differing spans, complexity and construction type.

Because of our reputation in bridge design, we have been able to assist other local and national firms to meet schedules and quality goals.
