Centennial Bridge over US-95
Las Vegas, NV

CentennialOriginally Centennial Parkway crossed US-95 at grade.  This was a high traveled and dangerous intersection.  The new concept was to have Centennial cross over US-95 and then to later serve as part of the Las Vegas Beltway (I-215).  In order to accommodate this future use, the structure and sections of beltway were designed for the future needs and Centennial was upgraded to utilize the new roadway and structure.   The project consists of the construction of a new interchange at US-95 and Centennial Parkway with five miles of roadway, ramps, frontage roads, and permanent and temporary beltway sections.

As the prime engineer on this project, we were responsible for the design and preparation of all construction documents for the bridge structure and all other miscellaneous structures, hydraulics, drainage, traffic, geotechnical and civil design for the project. We were also responsible for approval of conceptual design on the project, including the layout and proposed temporary on and off ramps between Centennial Parkway and US-95.

As the structural engineer, we designed a 4-span 497' long and 67' wide post-tensioned concrete box girder bridge to carry traffic on the future beltway over US-95.   The hydraulics and drainage for the project included a 3 cell box culvert under a ramp, the landscaping and geotechnical reports.

We performed as the construction administrator during construction having all RFI’s pass through the company for response.  Testing, inspection, approvals and change orders all were part of the CA on this project.
