McClellan, Mather and March Air Force Bases
California

McClellan AFB
In support of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection mission, a new hangar at the former McClellan AFB was evaluated to determine environmental conditions at the site.  The McClellan Phase I ESA was conducted on a new proposed hangar to be leased.  An extensive review of the McClellan AFB National Priority List (CERCLA) operable units was included to evaluate environmental conditions at the site. Contamination has been documented in the surface soils, vadose zone, and groundwater contamination due to past practices.  The Phase I ESA documented the locations and remedial actions that have been conduction at the base.

Mather AFB
A Phase I ESA was conducted on a current USCBP hangar location to evaluate environmental conditions at the site prior to the USCBP leaving this location.  An extensive review of the Mather AFB National Priority List (CERCLA) operable units was included to evaluate environmental conditions at the site.  Contamination has been document in the surface soils, and groundwater contamination due to past practices.  The Phase I ESA documented the locations and remedial actions that have been conducted at the base.

March AFB AMOC
The proposed action is to acquire 8.38 acres east of AMOC and utilize the CBP owned 2.75 acres north of AMOC to construct the necessary administrative offices, parking lot, warehouse, indoor gun range and/or ammo depot on the property that will accommodate staff and reduce overcrowding, provide adequate space for equipment storage, vehicle parking and provide a safe environment for personnel, staff and visitors.  R2H is supporting this project by performing a Phase I ESA, Environmental Assessment (EA), Biological Evaluation, Biological Assessment, FONSI and Administrative Record.
