R₂H was the prime consultant on the project which consisted of the structural design for a 30,000 sq. ft. building constructed for the Buzard Eye Institute.  The building includes a three story open atrium at the center of the structure with a curved skylight.  The plan, which allows for a future 7,000 sq. ft. expansion, was accomplished by designing the first floor roof at the exterior wing of the building as a floor so an additional roof could be installed in the future to utilize the entire building footprint.  Construction of the building utilizes reinforced concrete masonry walls with steel bar.  R₂H was responsible for full structural designs, including preliminary layouts, material selection, foundations, superstructure and appurtenant structure, designs, coordination with all disciplines, structural drawings, preparation of specifications, bidding assistance, and construction administration services.
